Walter Reed Hospital Holiday Visit

On Thursday, December 15, 2005, during this Holiday Season, I visited solidiers recoving from their war wounds suffered in Iraq at the Walter Reed Medical Center. In cooperation with the Rotary Club of Washington DC, I visited those injured and recovering, listened, played bingo with the troops and generally showed that American's remember those who have given so much for our country.

In addition, my office has provided them books, DVD's, CD's, VHS, VHS recorder as presents for those recovering.

It was a very sobering and inspiring visit because these men and women have given the ultimate sacrifice for our safety and freedom. They truly are heroes and deserve our support and honor.

In my and my office's small way, I will express appreciation to those serving and I will visit those injured and rehabilitating at the facility on the first Thursday of every month. Hopefully this will provide much needed support and bring honor to the service of these brave men and women.

Happy Holidays
