SEC Discussion with Commisioner Campos

On Wednesday, January 18, 2006, Christopher Zampogna arrranged for a speech from Securities and Exchange Commissioner Campos at a Rotary Luncheon in Washington, DC at the Hotel Washington.

Commissioner Campos has served on the SEC since August 2002 after being nominated by President Bush. He is one of five commissioners who regulate the securities market in the United States.

Commissioner Campos spoke about international markets and about the recent decision to provide more disclosure of executive pay of public companies.

He was a very engaging speaker and provided insight into the rule making process by the SEC and its effect on our publicly traded market. His distinguished leadership has been instrumental in bringing stability to our markets in these challenging times.

He clarified his position of disclosure of executive pay emphaizing that the SEC is not intending to regulate the pay of executives but to increase disclosure of information about those who lead public companies. He did not excuse those who fail to research companies and their directors on the free services provided by the SEC. He emphasized the value of using "Edgar" online and its recent user friendly changes.

Edgar will provide information about executive pay ( see www.sec.gov).

Look for current changes at the SEC and information for readers about the regulation of public companies future articles.
