Missing ingredients when cooking like court mishap

Good to always be ready to improvise, when in court or when cooking.

I recently "invented" ingredients when I did not have all the necessary ones for pasta con sarde or pasta with sardines.

Like being in court and getting ready for appearence and realizing you forgot an important document, you have to improvise.   This happens from time to time.  And, when cooking, the same "horror" happens when you realize you don't have, in my case, raisins or currents.   I added, instead, some honey to the mix for the pasta con sarde which requires, a glazed mix of onions, fennel, etc...

And, add to the mix, you are cooking for your fiancee, soon to be wife, and the pressure is on.  You just go with it, poker face on, and make it look like you are the master chef.    Usually, no one knows you missed a key ingredient, and when the dinner is served, you come out impressing.   Cool works every time.

In court, you need to be the same, make it look like you planned not to have the specific exhibit.  Best, espcially when the client is present, to never admit you forgot something.   It was a plan you had.    Attitude is key, when cooking or when in court.   You need confidence in both cases, as usually something will not go as planned, whether it is a missed ingredient, or a forgotten document, you push on, and finish the job.
